Accountability Lab Launches Public-Sector Transparency Project

MONROVIA, June 29 (LINA) – Accountability Lab Liberia has launched a National Social Accountability Project to Promote Public-Sector Accountability and Transparency.

Speaking at the launch of the project recently in Monrovia, Accountability Lab Liberia Executive Director, Lawrence Yealue, disclosed that the project seeks to include citizen’s participation and engagements with civil society organizations and local governance across the county.

He added that the duration of the project is 18 months and that the program will be implemented in  phases.

"This project is also aimed at addressing issues like conflicts, not just in local governance but at the National level as well," Yealue explained

He disclosed that phase one of the project will run from June to December 2024, while the second phase will run from January to December 2025.

Also, Yealue revealed that the project will target women and girl’s organizations, youth and marginalized communities among others.

The UNDP funded project will be implemented in four regions including western, central, southeastern and South-southeast Liberia.

Accountability Lab is a global trans local network that makes governance work for people supporting active citizens, responsible leaders and accountable institutions.
