Press and Public Affairs

The Department of Press and Public Affairs is the media center and public engagement arm of the Ministry. It interfaces with the press and the public through its regular press conferences, outreach programs and public diplomacy.

The press conferences are held on a weekly basis, currently on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Public outreach programs designed to take the Government to the people provide the opportunity for the Government to engage directly with the Liberian people on matters of policies and programs. Public diplomacy ensures that we entertain members of the Liberian public who have burning public issues on which they want answers. Ordinary Liberians can come to the Department of Press and Public Affairs, and our professionals are ready to engage with them on any issue of interest and importance.

The Department comprises a subdivision of information services, which comprises three bureaus. Bureau of Press and Public Affairs, the Bureau of Audiovisual Aid and the Bureau of Broadcasting.

The Press and Public Affairs Bureau coordinates engagements with the Press and the Public through outreach and public diplomacy and engagements.

The Bureau of Audiovisual Aid produces audiovisual content for the Government, broadcasts such content and stores them for future reference and for historical purposes.

The Bureau of Broadcasting produces, broadcasts and stores audio content for the Government of Liberia.

Together, these three bureaus, Press and Public Affairs, Audiovisual Aid and Broadcasting comprise the Department of Public Affairs and/or Information Services of the Ministry.
