The Earth-moving Equipment for Road Maintenance

THE EARTH-MOVING EQUIPMENT FOR ROAD MAINTENANCE The Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Jerolinmek M. Piah on Tuesday, May 28, at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Press Briefing declared: “Under the laws of Liberia, the Executive Branch of Government, headed by the President, negotiates and secures agreements for the country and its people.

There are different scenarios depending on the scope of the kinds of agreement. We are fully aware of all of the lawful requirements associated with the various scopes of agreements (Loans, Treaties, Concessions, Financing Agreements etc). The Retreat was a gathering of the Executive Branch of Government along with its partners (Local and International). No agreement was concluded and consumated. As updates were received from various sectors, one of such updates was about ongoing efforts to remedy our perennial road crisis by seeking to acquire earth-moving equipment for the country to keep our roads maintained and accessible. When a decision is made by the Executive regarding said machineries between 285-300 pieces, it will be formally announced along with the required details. It will be consistent with laws as the President will do nothing to undercut the laws of the land. In short, we will get equipment for our road works, but the processes needy for the acquisition are still in the works.
