President Boakai Exalts Departing UN Women Country Representative and ECOWAS Resident Representative

Executive Mansion, Monrovia - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., has honored two senior members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps and Development Partners whose assignments in Liberia are expected to conclude in 2026.

The recognition took place on Friday, February 20, 2026, during the New Yearโ€™s Reception hosted by the President in honor of members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps and Development Partners at the Executive Mansion.

During the ceremony, President Boakai paid tribute through Foreign Affairs Minister Sarah Beysolow Nyanti to Ambassador Josephine Nkrumah, Resident Representative of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to Liberia, and Ambassador Comfort Lamptey, Country Representative of UN Women in Liberia, for their distinguished service and contributions to national development.

President Boakai expressed profound appreciation, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, for the diplomatsโ€™ partnership, dedication, and support to Liberiaโ€™s peace, governance, and development agenda.  โ€œI thank you for working with us. We are sincerely grateful for your support,โ€ the President stated.

The Liberian Leader emphasized that the impact of their service would endure beyond their tenure, noting that their friendship and contributions have strengthened Liberiaโ€™s engagement with the international community. โ€œYour service, friendship, and contribution will continue to be remembered,โ€ President Boakai added.

Reflecting on Liberiaโ€™s enduring spirit and hospitality, the President highlighted the countryโ€™s unique ability to leave a lasting impression on those who serve within its borders.  โ€œLiberia may be a small country, but it leaves a lasting impression. Many who come here discover that even when they depart physically, a part of Liberia remains with them,โ€ he remarked.

President Boakai expressed Liberiaโ€™s strides to sustaining strong partnerships with international organizations and diplomatic missions, emphasizing that collaboration with development partners remains central to advancing national progress and prosperity.
