
Harper City, Maryland County: The National Road Fund (NRF) has donated several road maintenance tools and equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in support of the Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) Program, which focuses on road maintenance and roadside brushing activities across Liberia.
Making the presentation on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Orondo F. Armah, Assistant Minister for Technical Services, turned over the items to Mr. Henry Cole, Superintendent of Maryland County.
The donation aims to empower community-based organizations to effectively carry out routine maintenance and ensure the sustainability of feeder roads and community access routes in the county. Mr. Armah emphasized that the initiative forms part of the government’s ongoing effort to decentralize road maintenance activities and encourage local ownership.
,He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with local authorities and community groups to maintain Liberia’s growing road network.

- 30 Wheelbarrows
- 53 Pairs of Safety Rain Boots
- 50 Pairs of Hand Gloves
- 53 Safety Vests
- 10 Road Signs
- 2 Motorbikes
- 1 Signboard
Receiving the tools, Superintendent Henry Cole expressed gratitude to the National Road Fund and the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their continued support toward community development. He assured that the items would be properly utilized to improve road connectivity and accessibility within Maryland County.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. John H. Tokpah, Jr., Chief Administrative Officer at the National Road Fund of Liberia, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting government’s effort in sustaining Liberia’s road infrastructure through community participation.
The Community-Based Organizations Program is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Road Fund designed to promote community involvement in road maintenance across Liberia’s 15 counties.
