Former Commerce Minister Amin Modad has cited that he resigned his post because he was deeply concerned about the impact on his integrity and the administration of President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr.

In his letter of resignation dated October 9, 2024, former Minister Modad stated: “over the last few days there has been public outcry over the purchase of a vehicle for US$45,000”.

He stated: Though I have provided all documentations and facts that equivocally demonstrates that there was no malfeasance, I am deeply concerned about the impact on my integrity and the administration.

According to him, the situation continues to be a distraction from the real national issues and the agenda of the Liberian leader.

Additionally, Mr. Modad expressed his gratitude to President Boakai for giving him the opportunity to serve his country and people as he wished his administration the best and look forward to a better Liberia.
