Executive Mansion, Monrovia - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has made several strategic appointments affecting technical and vocational education, institutional governance, and regional aviation management.
The move is consistent with his Administrationโs agenda to strengthen human capacity development, institutional effectiveness, and national infrastructure.
The institutions and those appointed are:
I. Tappita Technical Vocational Training Institute (TVTI)

II: Booker Washington Institute (BWI)
President Boakai has reappointed all other members of the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) Board to enable them to complete their unexpired terms.
Earlier in late October this year, the President dissolved the Boards of Directors of three key institutions, including BWI, pending their restructuring.
Further, the President has appointed Mr. Emmanuel Lawrence as Representative of the Visitor on the Board. This appointment is intended to reinforce governance and oversight at one of Liberiaโs premier technical institution.
III: Port Manager for Regional Airport (James Spriggs Payne Airport)
In further strengthening Liberiaโs aviation sector, the President has appointed Mr. Abner Wanah Yorly, Sr. as Port Manager for Regional Airport (James Spriggs Payne Airport)
Mr. Yorly comes highly recommended. He brings extensive experience in aviation, including air safety investigation, cyber-security and aviation-related systems, service as a retired U.S. Army Sergeant with aviation program support, and possession of top-secret security clearance. He is also noted for his historic solo transatlantic flight.
President Boakai has urged all appointees to serve with diligence, integrity, and professionalism in support of national development and the collective aspirations of the Liberian people.
