GoL Congratulates PUL On Its 60th Anniversary

Amid the observance of the 60th anniversary of the Press Union of Liberia(PUL) The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) has extended its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the union.

In  a Ministry of Information's release, dated Sept. 30, 2024, the GOL noted that the PUL was established on September 30, 1964, and appreciates the many contributions of the organization to the nation.

The Government said it recognizes and appreciates its relations with the PUL, the umbrella organization of Liberian journalists and media workers whose dedication and commitment to performing the sacred responsibility as watchdog of society over the years.

It said that the PUL has positively impacted Liberia’s democratic landscape and boosted the country’s governance credentials.

“Sixty- years of service to the Liberian nation comes with resilience, selflessness and perseverance of members of the PUL, deceased and alive,” the Ministry said.

The GOL assures the PUL of its unwavering obligation to ensure a free and responsible press in Liberia.
