Speaking Tuesday March 18, 2025 at the 73rd West African Examinations Council (WAEC) annual meeting, held at the Ministerial Complex, in Monrovia, President Boakai called on West African leaders to commit themselves to addressing the challenges of the educational sectors.
“Let us together undertake the commitment to ensure an equitable access that every child, regardless of socio-economic background, has access to quality education,” the Liberian leader emphasized, adding, “let us be guided by our shared commitment to progress and the belief that education is the key to unlocking potential."
The Liberian Chief Executive further urged West African leaders to join him in this vital mission to create a more just society where every voice is heard and every dream is nurtured.

He asserted that the institution has played very well its part in providing a framework that allows for transparency, accountability, and fairness in assessing academic achievements across the region.
The Liberian leader lauded WAEC for being instrumental in facilitating a common curriculum, ensuring quality assurance, and promoting regional integration.
At the same time, President Boakai urged WAEC to recognize the urgency and importance of creating inclusive examination policies and practices.
The Liberian President called on WAEC to design testing environments that are accessible to students with disabilities, ensuring that they have equal opportunities to showcase their skills and earn the qualifications.
Also, President Boakai encouraged students to have in mind that education is a privilege as well as it is a responsibility, citing, “your success is not only defined by the results you achieve but also by the character and integrity you build along the way. Strive for excellence, work hard, and dare to make your dreams a reality.”
