MONROVIA, July 31(LINA) – Grand Bassa County Senator and Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence has pledged her commitment to advocating for increased budgetary allotment to the education sector of the country, adding that adequate funding to education is essential for the ministry's enrollment drive.

Speaking at the official launch of the Ministry of Education National Enrollment Drive on July 30, 2024, in Monrovia, Madam Lawrence called on the Ministry of Education to enhance its collaboration with partners including traditional people to ensure the full implementation of the enrollment program across the country.

The Education Minister indicated that education plays a critical role in promoting sustainable growth and development of every nation, adding that the launch of the Ministry's back to my classroom National enrollment Drive is aimed at enhancing enrollment for the academic 2024/25 school year.

The Education Minister noted that the event is also intended to address four key thematic areas essential for ensuring sufficient enrollment figures and fostering an environment conducive to effective learning.

"We have come to engage and plan for welcoming our students back to their classrooms. How do we get them back to the classroom? Why are we getting them back to the classroom? How do we prepare for them to get back to the classroom is what's going to center around the engagements that we have launched today," the MOE boss explained.

She asserted that the importance of education cannot be overstated, noting, β€œIt's the cornerstone of a nation's development and foundation upon which the future is built.”
