MONROVIA, July 16 (LINA) – The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT), has summoned Apostle Benedict Tweh of Flaming Fire International Ministries over a controversial broadcast on his ministry’s Radio frequency 100.5 FM.

Speaking at the MICAT regular press briefing Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Information Minister Minister, Jerolinmek Piah disclosed that Apostle Tweh has been summoned to address allegations of issuing curses against Liberians, both domestically and abroad.

Apostle Benedict Tweh of Flaming Fire International Ministries is facing scrutiny from the Liberian government over controversial broadcasts on Flaming Fire Radio 100.5 FM, prompting a summons and potential license revocation.

Minister Piah asserted that Apostle Tweh, as Head Pastor of the Flaming Fire International Ministries used the frequency (100.5 FM) to curse individuals critical of his “prophecies”.  

The MICAT boss cautioned that failure on the part of Apostle Tweh to attend the conference could result in the church-run radio station losing its operational permit.

Apostle Tweh has faced increasing criticism, particularly following a viral video questioning the accuracy of one of his “prophecies”.

The issuing of curses prophecy has triggered widespread public outrage on social media, with many calling on the government to address the Liberian clergy’s conduct and the potential repercussions of the curses he spewed particularly against those he said were mocking his prophecies.

Many Liberians from the Christian denomination believe that the act by the Apostle is offensive to the Christian faith.
