MONROVIA, Nov. 4 (LINA) – The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Grand Bassa County Superintendent, Julia Bono.
Information Minister Jerolinmek M. Piah described the passing of Superintendent Bono as a “double blow” not only for Grand Bassa but also the nation.
Minister Piah confirmed that Superintendent Bono, a respected figure in the Liberian public service, died early Monday morning at the Liberian Government Hospital in Grand Bassa County.
Speaking on State Radio on Monday, November 4, 2024, Minister Piah extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government of Liberia to the people of Grand Bassa and to Superintendent Bono’s family, emphasizing her dedication to public service.
“The passing of Superintendent Bono from my home county is a double blow. She will be remembered for her dedication and devoted service to the public sector,” he stated.
He noted that the Government of Liberia is expected to discuss her contributions and legacy in an upcoming meeting at the Executive Mansion, adding that details surrounding her death remain limited.
He noted that Superintendent Bono was widely known for her tireless efforts to improve the lives of residents of Grand Bassa and her commitment to regional development.
Throughout her tenure, the Minister added that the fallen Grand Bassa official championed projects focused on enhancing education, healthcare, and infrastructure in the county, leaving a legacy of impactful leadership.
