Beijing Set To Host 2024 FOCAC Summit, Strengthening China-Africa Relations

MONROVIA, July 30 (LINA) – The Chinese Embassy near Monrovia has announced that Beijing will host the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) from September 4 to 6, with a focus on deepening bilateral relations between China and African nations.

The forum, according to the embassy, will be held under the theme "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future," the summit is anticipated to be a pivotal event fostering greater cooperation. 

Leaders from FOCAC's African member states will convene alongside representatives from relevant African regional and international organizations. 

Preceding the summit, the FOCAC Senior Officials Meeting and Ministerial Conference are scheduled for September 2 and 3 respectively, aiming to lay the groundwork for substantive discussions.

From September 4 to 6, the summit will feature a series of activities including an opening ceremony, a welcoming banquet, high-level meetings, a Conference of Chinese and African Entrepreneurs, and bilateral dialogues. 

These events are designed to enhance mutual understanding and strategic collaboration between China and Africa.

In anticipation of the summit, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized the importance of mutual respect, equality, and collaborative consultation, reflecting the core principles of FOCAC. 

"The upcoming summit is a significant moment to celebrate China-Africa friendship, explore new avenues of cooperation, and collectively chart a course for the future," Lin remarked.

The 2024 FOCAC Summit is expected to reaffirm the enduring partnership between China and Africa, reinforcing their commitment to a shared future of prosperity and development.
