MONROVIA, July 30 (LINA) – Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah has assured the public that the Government of Liberia is dedicated to combating digital illiteracy and ensuring that students are well-equipped with the necessary digital skills in the country.

Emphasizing the importance of keeping up with technological advancements, the Minister reiterated the need to bridge the digital divide aimed at empowering future generations with the requisite education for the growth and development of the country.

Speaking at the official launch of the Yamoramsa Laboratory at the Joseph Jenkins Roberts Educational Foundation in Monrovia on Wednesday, July 23, 2024, in Monrovia, the MOE boss indicated that the groundbreaking initiative is geared towards enhancing digital accessibility among the youth.

Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah emphasized that the core objective of the initiative is to equip Liberian students with essential digital skills, empowering them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven world.

According to the MOE Boss, the Yamoramsa Lab aims to revolutionize digital learning and foster a culture of innovation and proficiency among the younger generation, thereby paving the way for a brighter and more digitally inclusive future.

 "The pilot initiative aligns with the overarching goals of President Joseph N. Boakai's Digital Transformation Initiative, indicating a strategic synergy between governmental efforts and educational initiatives in driving digital progress," she explained.

In her closing remarks, Minister Jallah issued a compelling call to action, urging young individuals to seize the valuable opportunities with enthusiasm and determination by encouraging youth to embrace the challenges of the digital age with a proactive mindset.
