The Committee has been mandated by the President to vet, recruit and recommend to him, candidates who will work with national and international stakeholders to develop appropriate mechanisms, procedures, and processes attending the establishment of War and Economic Crimes Courts for Liberia. The Committee has been asked to submit its recommendations to the President within 21 working days.

The President’s decision, today, to reconstitute the entire Office of War and Economic Crimes Court stems from his desire to ensure that the process leading to the establishment of War and Economic Crimes Courts in Liberia is subjected to open and broad-based public scrutiny.
