LLA Lauds President Boakai for Support to Land Rights Decentralization

MONROVIA, Aug. 29 (LINA) – The Liberia Land Authority (LAA) through its Chairman Atty. J. Adam Manobah has lauded President Joseph N. Boakai for his continued support to decentralization of the LLA land rights activities across the country.
The LLA Boss made the statement in Monrovia on Monday, August 26, 2024, during the induction of three new commissioners appointed by the president at the LLA.
Chairman Manobah said the sustainability of agriculture and food security, as enshrined within the government's national agenda rests on land, thus, land plays a vital role in Liberia's development.
In August of this year, His Excellency Amb. Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. in fulfillment of Part-4, Sec. 16 of the LLA act and his constitutional mandate, nominated from within and out of LLA, three well-trained and experienced technicians to the LLA Board of Commissioners.
President Boakai's appointment affected the Department for Land Policy and Planning, now headed by Acting Commissioner Ali Kaba; the Department for Land Administration, headed by Acting Commissioner, Dr. Mahmoud Solomon; and the Department for Land Use and Management, headed by Acting Commissioner, Uriah Garsini.
Atty. Manobah, has admonished the newly inducted officials of the LLA to do the needful in the supreme interest of the Liberian people in the land sector.
He urged the LLA new officials to consider their high level of expertise, qualifications, and professional experience when it comes to the Liberian land sector.
Chairman Manobah further stated that with the presence of the newly inducted members of the Board of Commissioners, it is now time to speed up the operations of the LLA, adding that the development of any nation rests on land tenure and security, and underscores the need for the sector to be looked at seriously.
For their part, the Acting Commissioners pledged their commitment to strengthening and improving the Liberia Land sector, according to their various roles at the LLA.
The LLA Acting Commissioners also applauded President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for the opportunity provided them to serve in their various capacities, something which they think will now pave the way to fulfilling their dream and aspirations thus supporting the growth and development of the LLA.
